₱9,500.00
A 16th-century Mudéjar Cuenca y Arista rectangular border tile (or olambrilla / cenefa), manufactured in Seville, Spain (specifically from the renowned workshops of the Triana district) during the golden era of Andalusian ceramic art.
The pattern is called Lazo de Ocho (interlocking strapwork forming 8-pointed geometric stars and ribbons). The cream-white raised bands interlace over and under one another in a mathematically perfect, endless pattern that mimics woven leather straps or ribbons—a direct design heritage from the 14th-century Nasrid style of the Alhambra.
It showcases the iconic five-color Seville palette: deep cobalt blue, rich copper turquoise-green, manganese black/brown fields, a touch of iron-ochre amber on the corner geometric transitions, and a cream-white tin-glaze for the interlacing ribbons.
They represent a classic 1:2 double-square proportion typically reserved for structural architectural borders, friezes, or stairs (huellas de escalón) rather than standard square wall tiles.
