Turkomen carpets of this size and quality are highly sought after but hard to find. This particular piece, confirmed to be of an earlier date than significant Turkomen imports to the West, seems woven for a chieftain, requiring a large yurt. Its wool is superior and soft, with an excellent pile. The vibrant colors come from triple-dipped yarns, with bright green tribal motifs created using copper sulfate. The use of natural dyes and classic tribal symbolism makes this carpet truly exceptional. We recommend a visit to see the actual piece.. The pieces have  an unnoticeable little hole.
